Juarez Rodrigues Coelho é considerado desaparecido político por não terem sido localizados seus restos mortais. Conforme o exposto na Sentença da Corte Interamericana no caso Gomes Lund e outros, “o ato de desaparecimento e sua execução se iniciam com a privação da liberdade da pessoa e a subsequente falta de informação sobre seu destino, e permanece enquanto não se conheça o paradeiro da pessoa desaparecida e se determine com certeza sua identidade”, sendo que o Estado “tem o dever de investigar e, eventualmente, punir os responsáveis”. Assim, recomenda-se continuidade das investigações sobre as circunstâncias do caso de Juarez Rodrigues Coelho, localização de seus restos mortais, identificação e responsabilização dos demais agentes envolvidos no caso, conforme sentença da Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos que obriga o Estado Brasileiro “a investigar os fatos, julgar e, se for o caso, punir os responsáveis e de determinar o paradeiro das vítimas”.

Juarez Rodrigues Coelho is considered a political missing person because his remains have not been located. As stated in the Judgment of the Inter-American Court in the case of Gomes Lund and others, “the act of disappearance and its execution begin with the deprivation of the person's liberty and the subsequent lack of information about their fate, and continues until the whereabouts of the missing person are known and their identity is determined with certainty”, and the State “has the duty to investigate and, eventually, punish those responsible”. Therefore, it is recommended that investigations continue into the circumstances of the case of Juarez Rodrigues Coelho, the location of his remains, the identification and accountability of the other agents involved in the case, in accordance with the ruling of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights that obliges the Brazilian State “to investigate the facts, judge and, if applicable, punish those responsible and determine the whereabouts of the victims”.

Por ello, se recomienda continuar con las investigaciones sobre las circunstancias del caso de Juárez Rodrigues Coelho, la ubicación de sus restos, la identificación y responsabilidad de los demás agentes involucrados en el caso, de conformidad con la sentencia de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos que obliga al Estado brasileño “a investigar los hechos, juzgar y, en su caso, sancionar a los responsables y determinar el paradero de las víctimas”.
